My Rescue Story

My rescue story starts a little different than most. My story begins with a scared female dog who in April of 2015, and only about a year old, found herself at Orange County Animal Services (“OCAS”). The shelter was unaware my mom was pregnant when she first arrived and it wasn’t until two weeks later a volunteer noticed she looked like she was pregnant. Tests were performed and it was confirmed she was going to have puppies, 11 puppies to be exact. That scared dog was my mom, Sophia (named “Kedavra” at OCAS) and those puppies were me and my siblings…Even though my mom was pregnant, she was put in isolation and still was at risk of being euthanized, puppies included as her due out date was set for May 16, 2015.

LUCKILY a rescue stepped up and pulled my mom from OCAS. Orlando Bully Rescue (“OBR”) got my mom out of there just a week before we were on May 25, 2015, and just in time! Ten of us survived and my mom only lost one puppy…crazy, right? Soon after, my siblings and I all went to our foster homes until we found our FURever families.  I (previously named “Tux”) went with my brother Maximus (previously named “Teen Wolf”) to the same home and a loving family took care of us until we were big enough to be adopted.

About two months later, an application came in from a potential adopter. It was a mom and her daughter and they wanted to meet both Maximus and myself and who could blame them? So, we both made the trip for the home check. When we go there they were so excited to see us! There was another dog there too, Savannah. She seemed interested in us some but I don’t think she was as excited as the humans were that we were there. After a few hours, Maximus and I discussed who would stay…Maximus really wanted to stay with my human sister but for some reason, I just knew I had to stay with my human mom. I laid my BIG, BROWN, chocolatey eyes on that lady and I knew then she was already falling in love with me. That day, Maximus and I (only 8 weeks old) found our FURever home. I won’t say we made it easy for those two the first few months but eventually, everything fell into place and they’ve given us nothing but the best lives ever since and we give them smiles and unconditional love in return.
